African Services' Weekly Events

  • Food Pantry
    Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Walk-in service.
    Each visitor receives a one-week supply of fresh produce and non-perishable food items.

  • ESL Classes
    Every Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30 - 7:30 pm at African Services, 2nd floor.
    Free ESL classes for students of all levels.

  • HIV/TB/STD Testing
    Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. No appointment necessary.
    Free and confidential screening for TB, STDs, hepatitis and pregnancy.

  • Hospital Escort
    Every Wednesday & Friday at 9:00 am.
    Departing from African Services to Bellevue and Bronx Lebanon hospitals.
    For immigrants in need of healthcare. Call to reserve a spot: (212) 222-3882.

  • HIV Support Group
    Every Wednesday at 5:30 pm, African Services, 3rd floor.
    A weekly multilingual support group for immigrants living with HIV.

  • Independent Living Skills Program
    Monday -Thursday, 12:00 - 5:00 pm.
    Life skills workshops for HIV-positive immigrants.
    ESL & Literacy Classes: Mon., Tues. & Thurs. 12:00-2:00 pm & 3:00 - 5:00 pm.
