There are 135,000 children estimated to be living with HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia.
Without treatment, 75% will die before their fifth birthday.

African Services has diagnosed over 200 children with HIV at our community-based clinics.

Our Response: 

To meet the needs of families with HIV-positive children, African Services launched the first comprehensive pediatric HIV case management program in Ethiopia.

Our staff case managers provide intensive counseling and support parents need to nurse their children back to health. Meeting monthly with families, they monitor treatment, provide nutritional supplements, treat opportunistic infections and provide referrals to educational and social resources for their children.
