African Services' epidemiological data from our testing centers in Ethiopia reflects general trends across sub-Saharan Africa, where HIV disproportionately affects women and young people. The HIV prevalence rate, among those who test at African Services, is 17 percent. Ten percent of men and 25 percent of women test positive for HIV. The average age is 25.
