By accessing our web site (the Site), you agree that you have read and understand the African Services Committee (ASC, we, or us) Privacy Policy (Policy)
which describes how we use your personal information, and what options
you have to update or request the deletion of information submitted to
us.
Information We Collect
ASC does not collect any Personally Identifiable Information from you through the Site without your prior notice. Personally
Identifiable Information refers to information you voluntarily provide
to us that tells us specifically who you are, such as your name, email
address, or other contact information.
If you choose to make a donation to ASC, whether by telephone,
postal mail, or this Site, we will collect certain required financial
information from you (such as your credit card information if you
choose to submit your donation in that manner, and the donation
amount). Online donations are processed by a third party service
provider and you should read the section below entitled "Links and
Third Party Web Sites" and familiarize yourself with the privacy terms
of all such non-ASC sites before using them. Unless you provide it
to us voluntarily, ASC does not collect Personally Identifiable
Information about you in connection with your use of our Site.
ASC does not want to collect Personally Identifiable Information
from minors (children under 13 years of age, or any other age defined
under applicable law). If we become aware that a minor is attempting to
or has submitted Personally Identifiable Information through the Site,
we will notify the user that we may not accept his or her information.
We will then delete any such Personally Identifiable Information from
our records.
Information You May Submit to African Services
By visiting our Site, you may have the opportunity to request
information from ASC, in which case an email or other contact
information may be required in order to allow us to comply with your
request, and for other purposes as may be disclosed at the time the
request is made. If you request information from ASC or make a donation
to ASC, we may add your email address or other contact information to
our mailing list and contact you from time to time. You may elect to
opt-out of receiving communications other than those relating to a
specific query by (a) following the instructions in "How to Request
Changes or Opt-Out of Future Communications" (below), (b) checking
appropriate opt-in or opt-out boxes which may be provided on the
collection form, or (c) as set forth in the communication sent from
ASC, such as a follow-up email.
How We Use the Information Submitted
We will use the Personally Identifiable Information you submit (i)
to send you materials or information that you have requested, (ii) to
notify you of other communications that may be of interest to you,
(iii) to process donations, and (iv) as otherwise described in this
Policy.
Discolosure of And Access to Your Information
Subject to applicable law, we may disclose your Personally Identifiable Information:
To unaffiliated third parties, attorneys, accountants and advisors
who provide ASC with assistance or advice or are under contract to
perform services for or on behalf of ASC (collectively, Service
Providers), and who are required to uphold and maintain our policies
with respect to privacy and the treatment of your Personally
Identifiable Information, provided that any access to such information
will be limited to the purpose for which such information was provided
to our Service Provider;
To persons as permitted by applicable law or regulation; and
To law enforcement personnel and agencies, or as part of a legal
process, in order to protect our property or in furtherance of an
investigation regarding a breach of the Site rules and policies,
unauthorized access to or use of the Site or any other illegal
activities.
In addition, certain of our officers, employees and advisors with
access to your Personally Identifiable Information pursuant to this
Policy may also be officers, employees and advisors with respect to our
affiliated partner organizations described throughout our Site; to that
extent, such affiliated partner organizations may have access to your
Personally Identifiable Information, but shall not be entitled to use
such information without your consent.
African Services treats all personal information as confidential and
will NOT sell, trade or share donation/membership lists with other
organizations.
Links and Third Party Web Sites
This Policy applies only to http://www.africanservices.org. This
Site includes links to both our affiliated sites and to non-affiliated
sites, including access to content, products and services of such
affiliated and non-affiliated sites (Other Sites). For
example, online donations to ASC are facilitated by our non-affiliated
partner Isovera. When you follow links to make such a donation, you
will be linked to Isovera’s web site, which is subject to separate
privacy and other terms. In some cases, these Other Sites are made
available via "framing technology", and may appear to be part of our
Site. Prior to accessing Other Sites or non-ASC content via the Site, a
dialog box will inform you that you are about to leave this Site, and
will prompt you for your consent to proceed. We urge you to familiarize
yourself with the individual privacy and other terms for each linked or
framed site prior to submitting any Personally Identifiable Information.
How to Request Changes of Opt-Out of Future Communications
If you would like to receive a copy of the Personally Identifiable

Attention: Communications Director. If this information is incorrect or
incomplete, please let us know, and we will correct or update it
promptly. You may also ask us to remove your name and other personal
information from our database, in which case we will make all
reasonable efforts to do so, subject to legal and other considerations.

Changes to This Policy
We will post any material changes to this Policy at least thirty
(30) days prior to the changes taking effect. After the changes take
effect, all current and new information will be subject to the terms of

change to the Policy shall be deemed to be your consent to the revised
Policy.
How We Store Your Information
ASC maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards
designed to protect your Personally Identifiable Information. Your
information is stored in secure operating environments that are not
available to the public. All of ASC’s personnel and affiliates are
dedicated to maintaining and upholding your privacy and security and
are made aware of our privacy and security policies.
The servers where we store your information are located in the USA.
If you are located in another jurisdiction, you should be aware that
your Personally Identifiable Information once submitted will be
transferred to our servers, and the USA currently does not have uniform
data protection laws in place.
Consent to Processing
Subject to your opt-out choices and all of the provisions contained
in this Policy, you hereby consent to the collection, processing and
transfer by ASC of your Personally Identifiable Information for the
limited purposes described under this Policy. Your consent relating to
a right to transfer information referred to in this paragraph shall be
deemed to include your consent to the transfer of your Personally
Identifiable Information to jurisdictions that may have different
levels of privacy protection than that available to you under your
local law.
Other Terms
Your use of our Site is subject to and contingent upon your
agreement with other terms and conditions, which are hereby
incorporated by reference.
