Mr.
Akepele is a family case manager working with HIV-affected immigrant
families to support maintenance of care and treatment and ensure the
psychosocial well-being of the whole family. He assists clients in
navigating health care, public entitlement, medical, legal, educational
and other social support systems. In this role as a client advocate, he
provides escort, interpretation, counseling and intensive support to
immigrants and their families.
Evariste joined African Services in September 2002 from the
American Red Cross where he was a client services representative in the
Disaster Services Sector. He has Master's degrees in law from the
University of Abidjan and in international relations from City College.
He is also a candidate for a Master's in Health Administration.
Evariste is a certified community HIV/AIDS educator and has
certificates in international humanitarian law and the law of armed
conflict from UNITAR-POCI. Originally from Cote d’Ivoire, he speaks
French, Abbey, Attie and Dioula, in addition to English.
