Ms.
Traore is a community outreach worker at African Services, providing
HIV prevention counseling, referral to testing and medical
interpretation for immigrants through street and community contacts.
She also conducts targeted outreach to pregnant women by providing
medical interpretation at the pre-natal clinic at Bronx-Lebanon
Hospital. Prior to joining African Services, she was a sales agent in a
sightseeing company and a receptionist at the Touba Mbake Gallery. In
Paris, Ms. Traore assisted West African immigrants with translation
services and escort to medical appointments. She has a diploma in
administrative assistance and bookkeeping from Belgium. Ms. Traore is
originally from Mali and speaks Bambara, Mandingo, Malenke, French and
English.
